Just another example of her extraordinary aunting!
After two weeks of baby, pregnant woman, or contraction free fun in our house, the Russell family have returned to ruin Sravya’s peace and quiet. And within 24 hours, we managed to turn an immaculate flat into something resembling a busy nursery at the end of a long day.
House sitting is not a complicated pastime … unless of course you return home at midnight to a jammed lock and you can’t actually get in the house. Thanks to our excellent neighbour Mark, who came out to thwart a burglary attempt, Sravya didn’t have to sleep in the stairwell. We didn’t mind the midnight panicked phone call since it coincided perfectly with a night-time feed.
But a fortnight stay in rarefied Barnes has a price….and that is to get stuck in with the aunting. Not too much of a chore then….
This week has also seen multiple attempts to get a suitable passport photo for Nisha, early I know but you can never be sure when you will need to flee the country. At first I’d thought it reasonably easy to get a photo of a 3 week old baby where they are awake, not crying and looking at the camera with no visible means of restraint … turns out I was underestimating the task. Fortunately the passport office have foreseen these problems and recently issued new guidelines for passport photos for under 1s. Whether my photo of her asleep, crying and looking the other way will pass the Post Office’s excellent check and send service remains to be seen.
Several people have commented that there aren’t enough photos of Nisha on this blog, so I’m working to remedy that. Here are the first couple, now she is more awake it is easier to commit amusing expressions to (digital) film.
