Games for two
If keeping one small child amused is pretty hard, then keeping two amused is relentless. At around 8 weeks Nisha became more than just a feeding, pooing, and sleeping machine. She became interested in the world around her, and wanted entertainment. It’s easy enough when it’s just her; just wave a brightly coloured object or noise making thing in front of her and let her watch it or reach for it. But when Nikhil is also around then the requirements change. The games need to be easy enough to include Nisha but imaginative enough to keep Nikhil engaged. So far I’ve successfully tested the following:
- Bus Game – I’m the bus (no jokes!!!) with kids sitting on me. Nisha is the driver and Nikhil is the conductor.
- Synchro Yoga – Lay the kids next to each other and move their arms and legs in turn.
- Corridor Race – Nikhil runs up and down the corridor and ‘high fives’ me and Nisha at each pass.
- Sat Nav Game – we walk around the house (me carrying Nisha) directing Nikhil’s cars like a Sat Nav.
