Boys are blue and girls are pink

There’s no escaping it. Girl clothes are pink. Not just a little pink, but an explosion of pinky pinkiness and cutesy cutiness.

Even the more muted colours and patters get ‘enhanced’ with flowery motifs and logos like ‘Little Cutie’. Initially in hospital we tried to re-use some of Nikhil’s more neutral babygros, but after 2 days of comments like ‘but isn’t it a girl?…’ we succumbed and bought a few essentials from the charity shop.  Add to that the lovely little gifts that we have received from family and friends, and our daughter is on her way to being a queen of pink.

I must admit, we’re not hating it as much as initially thought….
